Everybody, this is tutorial on a basic combo by me. My favorite combo is actually—I’ve done this thing so many times and honestly, when I do like a combo or whatever, like on the spot, I’d probably do it over and over. I’ll do this first. All it is, is a hook kick arial cartwheel. Now, you’ll see this done in a lot of trick videos I’m sure. Here’s how you do it.
If you can do a cartwheel, that’s fine. That’s how you work it up. You step, turn, this leg is going to stay straight and you’d hook it. Notice I get feel my feet curled like this because you’re hitting with your heel. Now, even though this is a tricky move, the Taekwondo if you do it like that, but it’s still incorporated. That’s how it started. So you step, turn, put your arms here, keep this centered, hook, set it down, spring, lift and push. On to step two, lift, push here and think of a butterfly kick. Some people actually do this kick into a butterfly kick. Even if we do it with a step, you go here like this, that leg there, it would be like this. It could be used for—so I’ll do it one more time, watch. Boom, boom, just like that.
Now, if you throw a butterfly kick in, try this—here, butterfly kick. That helps a lot of people learn this technique. So try that if you can't do the arial part. Now, with the cartwheel part, try this—cartwheel, push both of your hands when you do it, or you can do it this way. You can go like this and throw your feet down. But the main idea is if you can control that momentum.
Now, here’s how I get my momentum. You shift it from one side to the other. So watch, right here, hook kick, the weight shifts from one side, shifts to the other side. So hook kick, shift, leg up. As you do this, think about going here to here, as weird as that sounds, but it’ll come a little easier when you actually do the move. So here, we’re like here, you come over, you see the spot, plant that leg, boom! Going back up. One more time fast, okay. One more time slowly. Okay.
Also just like a lot tricking things, don’t let the heel hit the ground. One, it hurts if you hit it hard. Two, you don’t need it. It’s on the balls of your feet. In another tutorial, I mentioned that in other videos, the heel never hits the ground. You don’t have to bounce. It’s not stop into a side foot. It’s an arial cartwheel, so here, boom! Balls of my feet here. I did land on the balls of my feet, alright? Keep that in mind. That’s a basic combo by yours truly, Epic from TRICKSet.
