What’s up you guys? This is Epic from Trick Set, and this is the tutorial for a wall flip. The wall flip is one of the most fun things to do and free running. So I’ll demonstrate one.
[Demonstration]
I just did one wall flip. That’s from a stand. Now, from the right is the same thing. You just do the same thing when we get to the wall. All right now, the reason I did it from there is because I have enough control and I’ve done it a lot of times to where I can do like in second nature and that’s what your goal should be if you want to do the wall flip really good.
So to break it step-by-step, for starter you want to go at the level with enough momentum or when you put your foot on the wall, all you need to do is push up and out to get enough rotation for the back flip. If you don’t know how to do a back flip or if you don’t know the basic movement to back flip, get that down first. If you can all see, if you can stand and do like a back flip and land like at least hands first, like you can do a back hand swing, you should be able to do this. Because all it is, is kind of like doing a back flip off from what to say where place your foot here. It’s like doing a back flip on one foot. Like on the ledges like this high and just go back with that. It’s kind of the same principle.
So you're here one, I don’t know which foot go. I can do it on both foots, so I apply to both feet so you guys can get use to it. I do my right foot normally, step at the wall and jump up at the wall. Don’t focus on walking too high on the wall. Just get in the air enough to work when you push off. You can just go higher, that’s what you really want to focus on, so I have all enough momentum. When you place your foot, push up and out. Now don’t look up because when you look up, you’ll focus too much to stay at the sky. You will be like, “Okay, I should be tucking that out”. So keep your eye at the wall, so you start tucking so I will do one more okay, here.
[Demonstration]
That, now that tucking part, the actual flip is just like the back flip. If you can do a back flip, you should be able to do this. You may practice this in the gym. Have some buddies off the side with the mat, you must have seen this before and then you climb up the wall. As soon as you go in the air, have them throw that mat up from underneath you right. Or if you want to you can practice where you have like a little block here something like that and you put your foot on like this and then one, two, three and see if you can flip off like that.
So if you will start by putting the ends down, you must be able to see it but yeah. So the low of foot, again towards the wall, jump up at the wall place your foot and push up high. Lean back, tilt your head back, you do the tucking. When you’re going over, you will be able to spot the ground to see where you’re going to land and then pick a spot and then that’s where you place your feet open up for the landing. Also back for landing, try on to land under heels like you go into the land like flat footed. That’s put a lot pressure on your ankles or your heels that you really don’t need, especially when we’re doing on concrete.
You got same thing for the tree. Make sure it’s really gripping for starting learner. We’ve starting to learn it or a brick wall are necessary, anything that you can get a really good grip on sub-cheese. So if you will practice the barefoot which actually comes a lot because you don’t have shoes to drag you don’t. What I recommend that you land is land both of your feet kind of crossing your knees like this here.
[Demonstration]
That’s when I land, get trying to bend your knees as you land that way your crossing your landing and you don’t put a lot of attention on your ankles, so your heels that you don’t need. And that should be off for the foot part, yeah. Your hands don’t have to do anything unless you have a lot of control of them. Some people, I don’t know most people just do the hands like they’re normally doing a back. They’re heading out like I do.
See for a tuck, it’s kind of the same thing. Most people if you go up too high and you tuck, you got feel over rotate. So make sure you actually see the ground. It’s the most important parts. Some people who just lay out of the wall, it should be fine because they normally land here. So if you’re going to land a low foot if you’re practicing it first, I recommend doing a lay out first that would be you’ll have more the chance to see the wall unless you have enough control over the top. So I’m going to do one more real quick.
[Demonstration]
All right, let me see, now the other foot.
[Demonstration]
Now, if you noticed that side was really bad because what I did is I took my foot on the wall by pushing out too far. So notice where I landed, I landed here. I have long moment going back there. All right, so if you start to do that, try and get use to push it up on the wall. Now obviously, I go on my right foot more but I wanted to do that size so I can show you guys. I’m going to try it one more time on that other side.
[Demonstration]
I’m better. Okay as for the two steps or three steps the same principle. To make sure you have enough velocity at the walls. You’ve touched that and then go up. It’s almost the same, if you have needs your own ideas, new video, comments or whatever. Now that I get a feedback, hopefully this has helped again. All you do is just to do the back flip but you use the wall for help, one more in slow motion.
[Demonstration]
That’s the tutorial for the wall flip.
