Hi, I'm Dina Prioste, and welcome to Get Exercised. Many people think that yoga and other forms of exercise were put on this planet just for their torture, “Why are you doing this to me? Wy?”
But I believe that physical exercise is really just a mirror of the way that you live your entire life. “Jenkins, I worked on this report all weekend. I'm not going to do it again. No, I'm not going to take a nap. Why won’t you, you should take a nap.”
Yoga is just another way of finding more strength, balance and flexibility all around. For example, today, we’ll be doing the revolved side angle post, which is not such a comfortable post at the beginning, but the more that you breathe deeply and find your center in it, you will notice how much easier it gets.
It seems I have a case of the hiccups. So, if I hiccup, I'm just driving this, “Excuse me, I'm breathing.” Come to a low land with the right foot forward. If your back knee is sensitive, place some padding under that knee. Your hips seats down, so the left thigh gets closer the floor, take the hands and must stay. Deep inhale, lay it in your spine, exhale twist t the right. If you can’t bring your left elbow outside that right knee or just stay up here to deepen the twist. Press the hands towards the center of your chest, your sternum and breathe deeply.
That will show those hiccups. As this exercise becomes easier and it will, you can challenge yourself by looking to the floor, tap the back toes under and come into a full languidness. If you’re comfortable with the balance, look to the side or look at over pass to your right shoulder. As your body becomes more flexible and your balance strengthens, you can do different variations with the arms to make it more challenging, like this, or binding with either strap or your reaching your hands together. But remember, no matter which variation you are, the idea is, as we challenge our body more, you’re always coming back to that deep breathe and finding your center.
“You’re right Jenkins, this is my best work. I will have a better report for you by the end of the week after I'm rested. Oh, and I'm going to give up drinking coffee.”
Now that I'm over the hiccups, I'm really going to be breathing deeply next week to get into an intense back bend. That’s a challenge for me. I can’t wait. You can practice the bridge post and the wheel to prepare for it. Thanks for watching. I'm Dina Prioste and you have just been exercised. It’s always about coming back to the deep breathe and finding your center.
