How to Pick Up Ground Balls

This is going to be a demonstration for some proper technique. First of, is you have a great knee bend. Get down low; as you can see with her, she got good leverage there. Also second thing is that you got to get your bottom hand down. Okay a lot of people talk about the butt technique meaning the butt of the stick and your own butt, getting it down lower to the ground.

Also what you got to do is try to get your stick as close as to being parallel to the ground as possible. So she goes down. You could see she has a right foot forward and her right hand stick, again not choking it up at the throat but better half way down. When she picks up the ball she scoops right on through. Pushing with her left hand and then of course protecting it right by her head keeping it in between her shoulder and her nose the entire time, protecting it from the defender. So if we do that at real speed, ball is down, she goes down to pick up the ball pushes on through, picks up and goes.
