How to Pick a Lock
This is how to pick up a lock—I have taken off the side just so you can see that it is locked and how I unlock it. I am just going to show you now that it is locked and the tools that I am going to be using is this metal bit here from a Uni ballpen. Just stop it there, take it off and use some pliers to make that go to 90 degrees, like that. So the pick I will use is from a bobby pin. I have used these same tools in another toy I have done, just to check on my name—the instructions on how to do that. The next thing I am going to do, I am going to take my lock, locked! You insert the tension wrench from the Uni ballpen into the lock and just press it on with the thumb, hold it in this same grip that I am doing. Just press it and when you feel it stopped, that is the amount of tension. You do not want to over tension it or under tension, just enough. Just so it makes it turn the barrel a little bit. The next thing, insert the pick into the lock all the way to the back, it is very important all the way to the back and just move it up and down and when you feel the barrel move like that, you will be able to feel that and run it a little bit and it will open like that. The tension wrench will move all the way around, the barrel will move and the lock will open just like that! We will do that once more for you. It is locked, insert the tension wrench and the pick, move it around, and if at any time you want to reset and you feel that it is not working, just release everything like that. The motion that you want to be doing this is up and down with the pick keeping the same amount of tension on the tension wrench just like that there we go and you will feel that move, pick that up and then just like that.
