How to Pick a Massage Therapist
On behalf of tvlesson.com, my name is Melisa Brown, licensed massage therapist. You can find me at UNeedaMessage.us. Choosing a massage therapist should be very easy even though you might not seem it. Everybody knows a massage therapist or if not everybody knows somebody that knows a massage therapist, word of mouth, one. That’s the greatest way to finding a great massage therapist because that means somebody else has already tried it. So you don’t have to go through the whole trial of finding if their good, if their not. Even though everybody has a different taste to what's might be good for one, might not be good for the other.
But I have been speaking about different types of therapists and different types of modalities. If you need something specifically, it would be very intelligent for you to do the research on what it is exactly. I've had these tension headaches, so maybe somebody that does deep tissue massage would be a great way of finding a good massage therapist.
There's association, the American Massage Therapist Association. There's association also in Europe. There's association all over the world. They always give good recommendations. But the best recommendation is always going to be your friends. They can tell you great, bad, horrible or excellent. And if this therapist is not really for you, but their good for your friends, ask them for a referral because they know a lot of massage therapists that can help you out as well. They are the ones that have that great network of friends. And they are always happy to help you.
This is not about us as the massage therapist. It’s all about healing and knowing that you're going to be feeling better at the end of the day. So this is all about you.
