Alex Coulson: Excuse me. Sorry. Can I ask you quick question do you mind?
Female: Okay.
Alex Coulson: I’m looking for Comic café, do you know where that is?
Female: No, sorry.
Alex Coulson: Okay. Alright, a friend of mine recommended. I can’t find this café.
Female: Down the street I think so.
Alex Coulson: I think it’s on the Pete Street.
Female: Oh, that Pete Street—
Alex Coulson: This Pete Street here is it?
Female: Yes.
Alex Coulson: All the reason I’m asking is basically a friend recommended I go this place.
Female: Okay.
Alex Coulson: They have a really sort of relaxed, sort of atmosphere that you apparently you see the light, wood and logs. I mean you get served a tea like wooden cups and stuff.
Female: Oh, cool.
Alex Coulson: It’s really funky but, you’ve been there before?
Female: No. No.
Alex Coulson: You’re missing out a big time.
Female: Apparently, I thought you jumped on me.
Alex Coulson: You would suck as my tour guide. It would have wake up between us but where are you from, anyway? I can’t take your accent.
Female: I’m from like—it’s just up London.
Alex Coulson: Oh, really? You got a really cute accent. You sound like one of those little chickens in ‘Chicken Run’.
Female: Really?
Alex Coulson: It’s cute. I’m Alex. How are you going?
Female: I’m Sophie, nice to meet you.
Alex Coulson: Sophie. Good to meet you.
Alex Coulson: Okay, so what you saw there was me approaches a brunette on the street and asking for directions is probably the best way to stop girls walking on the street. Okay, it’s very quick, it’s very concise, “Hey, do you know where Comic Café is?” there’s no such thing as Comic Café. I just made it up and she’s like, “No, I think it’s on Pete Street. I don’t know.” I’m like, “Cool. Well, anyway, one of my friends recommended I’d go there and check it out. They have like—tea and you sit down on a wooden log and you drink tea from like a little cup. And it’s really, really like Zen-like. It’s really relaxing and you should definitely check it out. And you would suck as my tour guide.” So, I teased her as well.
And this is a very important part of the attraction phase. It’s about teasing her. Now, I find that—I teased her on, “you would suck as my tour guide.” I teased her on her accent as well. This is quite funny, she said she was from I think it was—in the UK and I said, “Well, you sound like one of those cute little chickens from ‘Chicken Run’. And she laughed and this is all about teasing. This is what creates attraction.
And after that, it’s basically going into her—so I said, “I’ve got to go anyway but what was your name? I’m Alex by the way.” And I extended my hand, she shook her hand, she’s told me her name. And it’s very important that you have a bit of rapport as well. So, you know funny stuff here, bit of teasing here and then be normal. “Hey, you know I’ve got to go in a second. Anyway, but what was your name? I’m Alex.”
Alex Coulson: It’s a really good shopping place here around here.
Female: Yeah.
Alex Coulson: Yeah.
Female: I have to go.
Alex Coulson: Ah. It’s good. Before you go, actually I need you to quick—do you mind?
Female: Okay.
Alex Coulson: Okay, cool. I’ll tell you a discussion with a friend the other about my sister is getting a tattoo.
Female: Alright.
Alex Coulson: Of her boyfriend like a boyfriends name on her arm. The guy’s name is Butch. Now, what would you say to that if you had a boyfriend named Butch—anyway, what would you say?
Alex Coulson: Okay, back for me for a second. You noticed that I made reference to, “I know you have to go but I’ve got a very quick question for you.” and that made her more accepting to stay with me and talk to me. So, once I did that, I leaned back. And you’ll see from the video, I’m actually looking a lot more relaxed than she is. I noticed this is big pole behind me and this big marble pole and I thought, “Well, I have to better lean against it.”
That’s a very good tip because I find that lot of people in the street, when you stop people in the street, it’s much better the guy looks a lot more relaxed and usually you’re looking around and it’s not that much to lean against than to sit down in the streets. So if you find something fantastic, lean against it. It’s always better to be looking a lot more relaxed than the girl. So if she’s standing up, you should be leaning. If she’s leaning against something, you should be sitting down. If she’s sitting down, then you should be sitting down. You should be like ultra, ultra relaxed. Okay, it conveys confidence; it conveys you’re comfortable, it conveys you’re relaxed around her especially if she’s very attractive. Well, the guys like little side in. They’re so tense and they’re so, they don’t know what to say. And they’re so tense and don’t looked relaxed and girls will feel that same vibe from you and they’ll just get creep out by it so look relaxed.
And third point I want to mention is that I had a back up story. So I just told a story about I think it’s my cousin that had like getting a tattoo for boyfriend named Butch. It’s a controversial topic. Women love those. It’s tattoos, named Butch. I mean come on that’s—it got her attention and it’s a pre-planed story, it’s something to say after my conversation started.
Some other guys, they ran out of things to talk about. You have to have conversations that are always prepared and a back up story, just one. You don’t have to memorize five or ten minute’s routines and stacking, none of that. Day game’s a lot more natural. So just have one conversation starter and one story.
Alex Coulson: I better go anyway. I better get back to friends.
Female: Okay.
Alex Coulson: But what are you doing tomorrow?
Female: Um, nothing.
Alex Coulson: Nothing. I knew that alright. And when I managed to find this Comic Café, you can tag along, just as long as you behave yourself.
Female: Okay, cool, definitely.
Alex Coulson: Awesome. Okay, cool. Well, enter your digits there and I’ll SMS you.
Female: Okay.
Alex Coulson: Okay. So back to me for a second, you noticed here that I’m getting her phone number. I already pre-planned that date. So I asked her, “What are you doing tomorrow?” and she’s like, “Nothing.” I’m like, “Great, fantastic. Well, when I managed to find this Comic Café, you can come along. You can tag along just as long you behave yourself.” And I got up my phone and I assume that she was going to give me her number so there’s no, “Hey, can I get your phone number.” Or any of this awkward-like silence. Like, “Oh, well, I suppose we could hang out. How can we do this?” No, I said to her, “We’ll hang out. You can tag along with me jus as long as you behave yourself.” got my phone out. I said, “Cool. Well, enter your digits, I’ll SMS you.”
Never say phone number. Always say digits. You don’t get the other part of responses. You don’t get the little mechanism in the girl’s head saying, “Ah, phone number!” But digits, it goes under—so it’s a lot better. And just say, “I’ll SMS you”. Don’t say, “I’ll call you” because realistically, I’ve just met this girl and it’s going to be awkward if I’m like, “I’ll call you”. It’s too much investment on the girl’s part to have to answer that phone call. You know, tomorrow. She doesn’t really know me, it’s a bit awkward. If you say, “I’ll just SMS you.” It’s a lot less effort on her part.
