The first thing you want to do is decide on a theme for your party, this could be anything from a Hawaiian Luau to a classic Caribbean poolside gathering. Whatever theme you choose make sure that your pool is decorated accordingly. Find towels that match your theme and put them over each poolside lounger or chair so guests can get to them easily. Make an MP3 list of music that goes with the theme of your party to ensure the entertainment last all day.
To keep your guest cool nothing works better than fun in the pool. Keep some toys and games for kids to play with near the pool, so it'll still feel like a day at the beach, don't forget to have plenty of water-proof sunscreen available and remind everyone to use it regularly.
With so much going on your guests will no doubt work of a thirst and an appetite. Have an abundance of cool drinks on hand as well as lots of tasty snacks. Keep it simple and light with finger foods that guests can eat without utensils. Chips and dips, veggie trays, and assorted fruits are the perfect foods for poolside gatherings.
So when you are ready to take the plunge and host your next hot summer pool party keep these tips in mind and feel confident, your guests will remember the fun they had all year long.
