Hello everybody. How are you doing today? This is Andy Lopez better known as the Invisible Gardener. As a vegetable gardener, I worked on today. I really enjoyed Julienne vegetables especially if they’re organically grown. These are raised beds in which the wood has not been treated. Later on, I’ll show you how to treat a citrus.
We use a drip system whenever possible to conserve water, we mulch. What you see down there is I have a plot of variety of different products, mulch compost, earthworm castings, Bradfield’s Luscious Lawn & Garden. We put it for the tomatoes even though they have their own tasty tomatoes.
And then of course, I help other gardeners and I teach them how to do things organically. I help them to understand how things are growing. Now, that’s what it's really all about, helping each other, being there for people so that they can understand, so that they can do it 100% organically. They can have happy, healthy gardens.
And so, I already chose one of my favorite things to grow. Of course, you can take up the whole bed and so you have to put the bed aside just for them or you just get a big bed and share it like this is being shared with some roses. And of course, this rose here is quite a few years old and are very, very happy ones. We started feeding in, started taking care of it. It really loves organic food and organic fertilizers and stuff.
And then we walked around the garden. I sure talked with the gardener there. He was taking care of the place and talking about some things that are going on with the place and what needs to be done. One of the things we use as we take Bradfield’s Luscious Lawn & Garden, that’s it right there. I use that a lot. It’s a wonderful, wonderful organic alfalfa meal-based organic fertilizer and of course I take that and I apply that all around on all the trees. I put it under the base of the tree. You want to put at least a couple of handfuls and put them in the base of the tree.
In this particular case, it’s a citrus and there’s a whole bunch of citrus here that they were taken care of. They have a disease and they were in the process of helping them and if you want to make them stronger, you want to give them a couple of handfuls of the Bradfield’s Luscious Lawn & Garden on a regular basis. Say, once or twice every two or three months. I want to give them once a month, get them started. Now, you want to water it in so it's going to help it to dissolve.
In our case here, I’m not just watering, I actually do a nutritional spray and that means I also feed it with food. I have a very unique device set up and I’ll show it to you in a little bit and how you can foliar feed all your plants. You can hook it up yourself. You can use it to foliar feed all your plants at the same time if you’re watering. It's very important to feed them. The organic system is based upon feeding it on a regular basis because that’s how it’s meant to be done.
You eat food a little bit on a regular basis. You don’t eat all the time and one of the things we do is we blend together the Luscious Corn. We added the Luscious Garden and we also blend it together with the Corn Gluten.
Corn Gluten is a 9-0-0, that’s a Corn Gluten right there. It’s a wonderful, wonderful product and of course, we had Agri-Gro. It’s one of the things we spray with.
When you don’t want foliar feeding, you want to be able to spray some really good products to help the bacteria and help the soil and help the plants to eat the food. There’s a Corn Gluten there that we use. Of course, we apply it and that’s a little device right there that I use to apply the foliar feeding with. It's called a fertigation unit and that’s how we add the liquids to it. Here is the Bradfield’s, the 3-1-5.
Some people say, “Well it's not high enough.” It’s perfectly high enough for the organic system. The organic system is not based upon very, very high nitrogen but nitrogen being available on a regular basis.
So, we applied them on roses. The Corn Gluten by the way, I gave it to some of the chicken since it's organic and natural they didn’t bother the chickens at all. And here we are putting some of the Corn Gluten underneath this citrus. This is 9-0-0. It won’t hurt the citrus at all and we’re using it once a week. If you feeds the lawn, you control the weeds because the proteins control the weeds but because this is 9% nitrogen, citruses and fruit trees will love it at the same time they discourage the weeds from going at their base.
A couple of handfuls of the Corn Gluten and then you know because this is pelletized, the Bradfield’s or the Corn Gluten won’t vary in size, sprinkle it all over the plants and they go back later on and water everything in, take them off the leaves. I feel like it's kind of like giving a little bit of a tea bath because they’ll get in under leaves. It's a nice cool fertilizer and it won’t burn the plants.
Again remember, you have to apply it on a regular basis and you want to give it strong enough to and give it two or three handfuls on a regular basis. I say I would do it for the citrus four times a year. I would give them a real good feeding. Here, I am giving them the Luscious Lawn & Garden.
That’s the key to help the good plants, the citruses particularly to come back from the diseases. You want to feed them slow with this food. That doesn’t stress them out, gives them the nitrogen and the bacteria. One of the reasons why I like Bradfield’s is it has alfalfa. Alfalfa has these wonderful bacteria that come with it.
And that’s very important. I talked about having healthy, live soil. We have to constantly be adding bacteria to the soil because it's always being degraded from one source and you know the bad water, city water to all kinds of toxins will kill the bacteria.
And there it is right there. You know we apply certain amount of this. We have a drip system for you to get water and there are rocks around to control the erosion. The only problem these citrus were getting is they weren’t getting fed properly. That’s very important. You want to feed your plants on a regular basis. Remember the less stress, the less the pests. I’ve been going organically, of course. Bye now.
Don’t forget top listen to my radio shows. Go up to www.invisiblegardener.com. Click on the radio show icon, live shows on Saturdays from 12:00 to 1:00. I’ll be going organically, of course. Bye now.
Now this is now water that I’m spraying. This is foliar feeding as I told you before and we’re into fertigation unit. And then today, I’m adding Agri-Gro.
Just follow the instructions; you want to spray three or four times a year. I do it on a regular basis. I do it once a month in all my properties. Everything I take care into the foliar feeding. There are varieties of different things you can add to it.
Today, we’re using nitrate. We’re using Agri-Gro and we’re adding a little bit of variety of other ingredients to give it a nice wide, blend of food. At the same time, I’ve added a little hydrogen peroxide and a dash of milk to help control the diseases.
Today’s show has been brought to you by Bradfield’s Luscious Lawn & Garden and by Agri-Gro.
