Dave: Hi, I’m Dave Epstein. This is Growing Wisdom. Pack of seeds we bought it from Johnny’s of course at Johnny’s Selected Seeds. We’ve got Anthony Stevenson here. Planting seeds can be difficult but the four-row pinpoint seeder makes it a breeze. And you’re going to give us a little demonstration today.
Anthony: I am.
Dave: Alright. Tell us a little bit about this tool.
Anthony: Dave, this is called the four-row pinpoint seeder and what it does is enables you to plant four rows of varying space with pinpoint accuracy..
Dave: So Anthony, what type of seed would I use in here?
Anthony: This is ideal for planting small to midsize seeds.
Dave: So things like lettuces, carrots, all those tinee-tiny seeds that are hard to grip.
Anthony: Yes. Dave, let me show you the features. There are four hoppers that you put the seeds into. Each hopper is 2 ¼ inches a part so you can adjust your row spacing depending on which hop do you want to use. And the bottom of each hopper there’s a dimple and you would select the dimple that matches the seed size that you’re using. You can slide the shaft back and forth. Once you’ve done that all these brushers are adjustable and that will limit the amount of seeds that’s actually dropping out ideally one or two. On the back of it, the bottom, these are plows that make furrows that your seeds actually drop into.
Dave: And does it cover it as well?
Anthony: No, that’s the only thing you have to do.
Dave: So, it does most of the work for you?
Anthony: That’s right.
Dave: That’s a great little tool. So Anthony, one row of four and then you just keep doing this?
Anthony: If you need more yes, best thing to actually do is to lay this wheel in the track that this wheel made.
Dave: And just keep going.
Anthony: Yes.
Dave: Anthony, thanks for introducing us to the four-row pinpoint seeder, certainly a great tool which you can order through the Johnny’s catalogue around their website. Come back every week and check out our videos here at Growing Wisdom.
