How to Play 1,2,3,4 by the Plain White T's - Part 1 Cont - Chorus
Alright, chords is a little different, we’re using the same strum pattern, but before on the verse we went down – down – up – up – down – up, and did it twice, so down – down – up – up – down – up - down – down – up – up – down – up, and then switch chords. In the chorus you’re only gonna do that strum pattern one time. So for the part, there’s only one thing to do, three words for you. It goes, same chord progression D – to A – to B minor – to A, okay. But you’re only doing down – down – up – up – down – up, switch, down – down – up – up – down – up, switch, down – down – up – up – down – up, switch, down – down – up – up – down – up. And then you have, I love you. Which is two measures of G, so you gonna go down – down – up – up – down – up – down - down – up – up – down – up, and then the D, I love you, down – down – up – up – down – up - down – down – up – up – down – up, and you’ll do the whole thing all over again for there are only one way to say three words to you. The only part that vary from those two strum pattern, the same strum patterns, it’s just that, two measures of it in each of the before you switch chords in the verse. And the chorus is one measure that, strum pattern and then you switch to the next chord, strum pattern, switch to the next chord. Alright, the only way, the only other thing I wanna show you is, after the solo, you make it easy, easy as 1, 2, 3, 4, is just the G for two measures, to A for two measures. And then, they actually, it’s kind of like the bridge but is single strum chords. There’s only one thing to do, three words for you, A to G. And that’s where you go this, for you. And then walks it up. And then you pick up the rhythm and sing the same thing again, outro twice. And the outro is the same as the intro, so. I’ll try and play the parts for you real quick, and sing it. I’m extremely new to this song, but I really do like it, so we’re gonna give it a shot, alright. So, this is the verse… two measures to the strum pattern, two, first switch, one… two… one… two… alright. [singing] give me more loving that I’ve never had. Make it all better when I’m feeling sad. Tell me that especially when I know I’m not. Make me feel good when I hurt so bad, better get mad, I’m so glad I found you. Love me around you, you make it easy, as easy as 1, 2… [speaking] and then the echoes 1, 2, 3, 4. That’s the verse, then the chorus. [singing] There’s only one thing to do, three words for you… I love you, there’s only one way to say, those three words, that’s what I’ll do, I love you. [speaking] Alright, that is the chorus. The only part I wanna show you now is that, the single strum chords, they’re after the solo… [singing] there’s only one thing to do, three words for you, I love you. [speaking] Then it picks up. [singing] there’s only one way to say, those three words, that’s what I’ll do, I love you. Alright guys, good luck. Check out lesson two is where you’ll learn the solo and I’m gonna get to it.
