We are going to some minor chords now (Guitar playing). Want to begin with the minor chords? Minor chords have a little bit of a sad tone to it, rather than (Guitar playing). The major chords would sound happy. So, depending on what kind of song you want to play or write (Guitar playing). You are going to need major chords and minor chords.
I am going to start with the A minor chord, which is a five string chord. We are going to start with the 5th string open. Next, we are going to take our 2nd finger, put it on the 4th string, 2nd fret. 3rd finger, 3rd string, 2nd fret like so and 1st finger, 2nd string, 1st fret and finally, the 1st string open, which the term open means to play the string without any fingers and the left hand on it (Guitar playing) just open.
So, the A minor chord, remember, five string chord (Guitar playing). Once again, if you want to lean your thumb over and mute that 6th string out in case (Guitar playing) you are strumming it and you accidentally hit it, it will not go crazy and make your chord sound bad (Guitar playing) just muted.
Once again, A minor (Guitar playing) picked and (Guitar playing) strummed. The next is the D minor chord. D minor is a 4th string chord (Guitar playing) as opposed to the A minor which is the five. We are going to begin with the 4th string open (Guitar playing). 3rd string, 2nd fret, 2nd finger, 2nd string, 3rd fret, 3rd finger and finally, 1st string, 1st fret, 1st finger just like so.
Remember keep those knuckles bend and again as I said, it is a four string chord. So, we are only going to be playing four strings on the D minor (Guitar playing). That is picked (Guitar playing) and that is strummed.
And finally for the minors, I am going to teach you the E minor chord. The E minor chord is a 6th string chord (Guitar playing) here is E minor. We are going to start with the 6th string open. Remember it opens just by itself.
5th string, 2nd fret, 2nd finger, 4th string, 2nd fret, 3rd finger and that is it and when we talk about the F chord being the hardest chord. The E minor is probably the easiest one (Guitar playing). You should get that right away, providing, you got your left hand finger in the right place. Do not lean it over (Guitar playing). Bring that wrist around a little bit and get it out of the way of that open string (Guitar playing). Because once again, you have three open strings on this chords.
You have the 6th string open, you have the 2nd string open and you have the 1st string open (Guitar playing). First picked (Guitar playing) once again, (Guitar playing) and strummed (Guitar playing).
