I want to talk about one more thing and that is called Palm Muting. If you notice in the last section when I was playing the blues
(Guitar Demo)
That kind of muted tone as suppose to.
(Guitar Demo)
Because when you start playing this at home you might go.
(Guitar Demo)
And it does not sound like what he is playing, what happened? Here is how you do this; here is the difference between this.
(Guitar Demo)
And this
(Guitar Demo)
Hear the difference? This is a littler tricky but it is easy to do. You are going to be placing the meat of the palm of your right hand very lightly just barely in front of the little white plastics thing on your bridge. And just rest it there, do not put any pressure on it, just like if you are relaxing watching TV or something just place that guy right there. So rather than this
(Guitar Demo)
You have this
(Guitar Demo)
Hear the difference? We have with out
(Guitar Demo)
With palm muting, with out and with. You are going to be using that in all kind of, you can even use that stuff for your open chords if you want. Say for example let us just go see in G
(Guitar Demo)
With palm muting
(Guitar Demo)
That is an East Coast sound. So remember just not too much now, do not put it too far forward because you will just kill the notes entirely, you will have this.
(Guitar Demo)
See that how my right hand to far forward you do not want that. Remember just barely, just right above here, just nice and easy relax it on there.
(Guitar Demo)
So instead of this
(Guitar Demo)
You will have
(Guitar Demo)
And you can accent, remember we talked about accents before, you can accent that by let us say every fourth note strum pattern here. We are going to just raise up our right hand just a little so you have
(Guitar Demo)
For three palm muted one not palm muted so which will sound like this.
(Guitar Demo)
You do not have to raise your hand up just a little bit. I am doing more normal that I would just to kind a give you an idea of how it does but you do not have to go mad about and then raise your hand. Just barely pick it up off the strings, so you should have this one when you are all done.
(Guitar Demo)
And you can also mix those up at different combinations.
(Guitar Demo)
Let us say we lifted it up on the three as suppose to the four that would sound really good to.
(Guitar Demo)
