Hi there, welcome to another one of my easy to play lessons. I hope you get a chance go to my website www.mrmusiccanda all one word mrmusiccanada.com. There are some great lesson over there, beautiful songs and easy to learn too.
Today, I am going to show you a nice beautiful song in the Phantom of the Opera it is called “All I Ask of You”. All right, we are going to do it the key of C. I have simplified this much as we can and to really not to take that long for you to learn this beautiful song. So, I will do the first part of it and we will break it down and show you how we do it, okay. Here we go.
[Demo]
Okay, stop right there. Chord wise, we are going to need four chords in the first section. First one is our C chord, so if you grab your C there, okay every second note from there. That is going to give your Brad spread to all to end the—that is your C chord. Now, if you move up everything by one, we are going to play the D here. This is a D minor chord, okay. And it was just one up from the C. Okay. And the next chord we are going to need is a B flat. Okay. So, we are going to use our F the B flat and our D. Okay, so here is our B flat chord. And we are also going to need a G, so I hope you find your G with your Brad Spread. That would be a G chord. Okay, so just to go over those briefly again. We have got a C, D minor, B flat and the G. We can also play the G this way if you would like too.
This is how you will know it is a G chord. Okay, we are now moving into our right hand we are going to start off with the D note here, okay.
[Demo]
Okay, it is easier if you hum it to yourself or sing it out loud, agood way to remember. Let us go to that right hand again, okay. Starting on a D here, okay. Down with the G.
[Demo]
Okay, so let us put our left hand with it now. Starting off with our C chord if you want to play the three notes on the chord like that or if you want to play them, individual notes. That is your preference, okay. So do whatever songs best, okay. But I am just going to throw the chord for now and then you can do it later. Okay, starting off with the C chord.
[Demo]
Just stay on your C chord.
[Demo]
Just on the C chord.
[Demo]
Now go up to the D minor.
[Demo]
B flat.
[Demo]
And your G.
[Demo]
Okay, let us do it that one more time here starting with the D here and the C chord one more time, okay.
[Demo]
Go up to the D minor.
[Demo]
B flat
[Demo]
And up to your G.
[Demo]
Okay, okay then after you play that part twice. Okay, we move to the next section, okay.
[Demo]
Okay, so stop. Do not go to that part. Now chord wise, we are going to need our C again, okay. We are going to need an A minor and we are going to play this way this time. Okay, we are going to try and keep our chords in the same area to make it easy to get back and forth, one to the next. Okay, we are going to need our D minor again and we are also going to need a G7 this time. Okay, so there is an inverted G, okay remember our G chord, but bring the D down to here. Just G chord and we are going to add the F to it, okay. And then a better sound, that is called a G7, okay. So just to go over those chords again, you have got C.
[Demo]
You have got you’re a minor and your D minor and your G7. Okay, so that is the chords we are going to need.
Okay and with the right, this is the part starts off and says, “You need me”, okay. Hum at to yourself or sing it.
[Demo]
Okay, go up here again. Starting off with a D here.
[Demo]
Right down to the B there. Okay, and go back up to the C.
[Demo]
Okay, do that one more time.
[Demo]
Okay, let me go show that line again, twice. Okay, so let us put some chords with that and we can use our C chord to start off with and we are up here and starting on the D, okay.
[Demo]
This is the say you will need me. Okay, up to A minor
[Demo]
D minor, G7.
[Demo]
We are going to come down to the B. we are holding that note with our left, so I let go with my left hand and play right there. Okay, let us do that again. Okay, so our C chord.
[Demo]
A minor.
[Demo]
D minor.
[Demo]
G7, ok
