How is it going guys? This is a request we have. My head is practically cut off during this video because of the way I set it up but we are going to go with that anyway.
This song is a request from Denmark. It is by a band called the Kooks and the song is called “I Already Miss You”. So, we are going to start with this. You are on standard tuning, no capo or anything.
Let us go with the barre across the 6th fret. Then, you want to put your ring finger 3rd string down on the 8th fret, below that on the 4th string down, you are going to put your pinky 8th fret. And then, on your 5th string down, put your middle finger on the 7th fret. So, it will sound like this.
[Demo]
So, you are going to play just the top four strings the first strum. So, it goes,
[Demo]
And then, you are going to take this middle finger off and slide up. So, your barre is on the 9th and these two fingers are on the 11th fret but you are on the same string. So, it is.
[Demo]
You play that once. Then from this, you take both these fingers off and you make this ring finger into like a bar. So, you are barring across and you are covering on the 11th fret. You are want to be able to hold down 11th fret with that one finger, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings, the D, G and B strings.
This is going to be the toughest part of the song here. You play that once but before you play it, you are going to put your pinky finger on the 5th string down 12th fret. So, the way you are holding it down is complicated as it looks. These two strings are covered by the barre. The next string, 3rd string down has four strings and 5th are covered by your ring finger. But on the 5th string, you also have your pinky on the 12th fret. So, you can just do that.
So, you are going to do,
[Demo]
And you once you finish that, you strum that once and you pick arpeggio again. You strum it once. Take your pinky off and then play 5, 4, 3 all covered by that ring finger kind of mini-barre on the 11th fret. So, once you do that, you strum it couple of times.
[Demo]
And you take that same barre formation and you slide it down towards your barre across all 4th and your ring finger is covering these three on the 6th.
[Demo]
You will have two beats there.
[Demo]
Then slide down to your barre across the 2nd and this is across the 4th here. You do that. Once you do that, once you go from here. This last barre has a couple of strums.
[Demo]
Then, you slide all the way back up and this is the same as before where you are sliding up. As you slide, you want to pick your ring finger up and place it on the 3rd string down and then put your pinky finger right down here. So, we can come right back up to this one strum here where you have barre on 9, 9, 11 ring finger, 11 pinky, 9, 9 with the barre. Play that once. Right back into the thing where you barre it across 11th then adding pinky on the 12th and you go.
[Demo]
Then you are going to slide when you play a couple of more strums here and you just play that whole thing through twice. Then, when you get to the chorus, this is actually pretty easy. That verse part is really the tough part. The chorus, you start out with that barre across the 9th and your ring finger playing the 3rd, 4th, 5th string on the 11th fret. You are going to strum that five times.
[Demo]
Slide down to the 4th to your barre then two back at the 9th fret. Then at 4th, couple of like four beats on this, back up to the 4, 6, down to 2, 4. And then the last chord we are going to add in is after you go from the two back to the four and then back to the two with four strums. You are going to come over to make actually a major chord where you are going to put. You are still barring across the 2nd fret. Your ring finger is going to go on the 4th 2nd string down. So, it is this.
[Demo]
Pinky goes on the 4th fret 3rd string down. And the ring finger is going to go on the 3rd fret down on the 4th string down. So, this is that.
[Demo]
That is the 1st chorus. There is a little thing there at the end of that where the chord has varies a little bit. and the tab that I am going to put in
