The last thing that we are going to show you here is a special play. We do it while thumbing up. You can do it by calling anything. The whole premise behind thumbs up is simply this. When we get a mismatch because we now have a substitution and we have got a mismatch and we know we have a man that can beat someone on the block, we say “Thumb up John”. It happened to be John this time.

And simply we are doing this; when we run it and he throws he is heading to the block and we are throwing the ball immediately to the forward on that side and we are giving him the ball. That tells these two people they are crashing the board, I am back, I will read the situation if my men drops. So, it is just the way to put one man on the block and say “Using your mismatch” or “We know you can beat him off the move” and what we do again is, when he throws it over, we immediately throw it to the forward, get it down and he makes the decision, getting the ball and we use.

That is called thumb up, that is one special play, it would not very hard to derive or make many others. Usually what we do is run it and then go in into our primary option offense or series of plays. It mixes people up. It makes some guard different parts of the floor and it certainly puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the defense.
