Now we are going to do another variation of these where you split the half court. We are still going to the right side. We have done the V-cut. Now, we are going to show the defender the same thing. The Point Guard is going to come down, he is going to hit the wing, instead of V-cutting he is going to go all the way over to the opposite side, jump stop to set a pick for his teammate. His teammate can then come across up top, look for a jump shot, coming off of the pick. We will try that a couple times. Let us do a couple of repetition of that. Go ahead let us start on top Tom.
Go ahead, dribble ball hard, eyes out, hit the wing, come across, jump stops set a nice solid pick, rotate. Boom, good. What we are trying to develop—go ahead and role. So we are trying to develop habits that Point Guards need to get into. Keep going, go to your reps. We like to do about five repetitions for each move, for every guard. Now you notice our players have the number one, or the number two on their practice jerseys.
We do not feel there is a need to take our three men through this drills but we do feel a big need to put our two guards and definitely our Point Guards through this drills incase they need help bringing the ball sometimes, we have our two men available to do it. Hold up there.
Now we are going to do the same drills, this time we are just going to do a couple repetitions, you are going to cut up to the left side, start out by going across some picking first. Pick first, delivers after he splits the half court, jump stop on the pick. Good, rotate, come out this way.
Split the half court. No, no back up, you are right down the middle. We want to shorten the pass, let us split the half court. When you get the half court, you split the court. Dribble ball hard, go ahead, there you go, shorten the pass, nice job. Nice pick, good job. Go ahead, next. Good, set the pick, nice solid pick.
