Hey, man my finger is totally shredded from playing slap stuff. I am popping up the strings but you got to keep doing that so you get blister and then you do not feel it anymore. I am not a big slap popper person, I just know a couple lines and all you advance players, this is for beginners. No need to tell me how much I saw a girl that she hated me or any of that stuff. That is just no fun.
This is for beginners who just started playing bass and they want to play something cool, that is a little bitty they can do and it they practice on get your metronome all out and get a clicking, start it off slow, keep repeating sections until you get them done then move to the next section.
A lot of people ask me about the tab on this and I am going to try and explain it by just telling you and showing you where it is at. So let us see how you do.
This is bass of the E string, A string and a couple of things off the top strings, there is four strings, that is good. It is always good to knowing how many strings you have. Do you have six strings, you are not a bass player you are a freaking guitars okay. All right here we go.
[Bass Guitar Playing]
That is the beginning that is about how fast normally goes. It is just E to the A and the B on the E string and then it is D-D off the A string, and then use throw up in between. So that is
[Bass Guitar Playing]
That was F#-G on the A string and E to F#. If you do not know those, you just could look at the dots on the frets and match up to where I am at. Also something that a lot of people do not realize looks very important on the bass is that you mute the other strings whenever you are hitting on these E strings and stuff. You use your pinky. I have my pinky down holding this ever so lightly on these bottom strings so they do not bring out long trying to play that because if I did not mute it would be [Bass Guitar Playing]. I do not know it always just would not be right. Okay anyway, that comes with times.
[Bass Guitar Playing]
So that is the beginning part [Bass Guitar Playing]. Just practice that over and over again. Once you get that part down [Bass Guitar Playing] do not forget that part that is on the fourth time.
The next part is the E string then up to the top G string and you are popping, you are fleeting up your finger on the D and the E [Bass Guitar Playing] and then down to the D string and you go from A down the G [Bass Guitar Playing].
Then F#-G, D [Bass Guitar Playing] then down to the next strings below it [Bass Guitar Playing] some times it is hard to tell on the camera and then the same thing. But up here on the top of the G string [Bass Guitar Playing] it sounds pretty easy but you just have to get it in the time. The time is still hard for me.
[Bass Guitar Playing]
Just go along and play it fast.
[Bass Guitar Playing]
Sounds really cool with a drummer. Practice!
