(Music Playing)
So that was the song “Better Now”. A very fun song to play as you saw because a slower song allows for a little more theatric semi-playing. So one of the things I want to show you is this stick trick where I toss the stick-up and catch it in the air. It’s a lot of fun to do on a song that is a little slower but once you start to learn and get a little better, you can corporate into faster songs, it becomes very, very fun and very cool for the audience. So here it is.
So one thing to keep in mind when you’re doing stick tosses, maybe get into a bigger stick, if you use a small sticks they can be little hard to grab on to. Having that been said, here how’s the trick works. When you are playing, you want to able to toss the stick straight up in the air, let it go and then catch the top with your hand and come down. You can do it with either hand but I’ll show you the application which I used in the song.

So what you want to remember is to start small when you start to toss but as you get a little more practice, keep going higher and higher and see how high you can go. Give it a shot.

So just keep in mind, start small, work your way up and if you want any other inspiration on stick tricks, check out Sy Thomas line drumming. Lots of really intricate stick works, throws, twirls, that kind of stuff So check it out.
