Now this section is on rhythm. The rhythms that I am going to be discussing with you today are base around what you could a 12 bars pattern, meaning that every 12 bars or measures, they repeat themselves. Not this is going to start with three chord progression using the chords A, D and E. I am going to show you them first and then we are going to go with a little base and drums to kind to give something to practice with and I see you can hear outside like with the whole bar.
The first the E, the progression goes, we are going to play the fifth string open, (guitar playing), the fourth string second fret, the fifth string open again, the fourth string four fret, fifth string open. Four string fifth fret and then finally the fifth string open one more time and four string fourth fret. So let me play that all together so you can hear out sounds, (guitar playing).
If you got that, you can play that with me. Now I am going to move to the D, which is the exact same thing hook one string down. So we are going to be using the fourth and third strings. It is going to be the exact same thing. So it will sound like this, (guitar playing). And finally the E, which we are going to do that, we are going to do the same exact thing, we did the last two times. But, we are going to be using the sixth and fifth strings, like so, (playing guitar).
Now before we play this with the band, I want to explain something to you. Remember what I said in the monolog, it is not only what you play but how you play it. So be careful, it is not just about hitting the notes correctly, it is about making them sound good. For example, if I where to play this, (guitar playing). The notes are correct, but it sounds bad, (guitar playing). Hear that, take it nice and easy with your right hand to plays those note flow and quite, like so, (guitar playing). Hear that, that is what your striving for, round even notes.
For now, we are going to do is we are going to play with the band and you have a chance to practice long and hear what it sounds like with the band, so let us wind it up. (guitar playing).
