How to Play Chair Tennis

Next let's move to an exercise especially designed for juniors or athletic adults. Step up players in chairs or some cross board from the center field. Then right after tossing the ball the feeders quickly move to the chair at the side tee. Points are scored for each team when the feeders are both seated in the chair and catch the ball.

Focus issues include movement and teamwork, while working out angled shots from the front half of the court. Of course, there are many variations such as our players are now demonstrating. In this exercise there are now three pauses alternating feeds to one hitter. The tossers are scoring points when they sit and then catch the feed and when one of them catches a total of three they replace the hitter.

Now to motivate the hitter, you want to just rotate simply start them on one side of the court and create a running hit, they will be very glad to switch.
