Now, we are going to move to the next section, which is under the B power chord and I borrowed a little sequencing idea from solo from the track called Over the Mountain. Randy Rhoads is quite a fan of those classical kind of sequences. I will play the lick for you. It sounds like this. That is the basic idea. Play 16 on the G. 15 on the B, 14 on the top E, 17, 15, 14 on the top E, 17 on the B, 15 on the A, 14 on the A, 17 to 15 on the B. Now, 14 on the top E, 17, 15, 14 on the B and then 17, 15, 14 on the B, 16 and another final beat 15 to 14 on the B, 16, 14 on the G, 16 on the D and then finish off on 16 on the G so the whole thing.
Here is our next lick, which is a not so simple B minor – lick. I will play it for you. So, just playing seven on the G, and then nine to seven on the D, and then nine on the A, and finish off by hammering seven up to nine on the G string. This next lick is a very interesting phrase and it is based in that – chord. We take each one of those notes. We approach it from the semi turn lower so the notes are the fret number seven on the E, ten on the A, nine on the A, nine on the D, seven on the G, seven on the B, seven on the E and then ten on the top A and then start semi turn lower and just thrill. So that is six and seven, nine and ten eight and nine, eight and nine, six and seven, six and seven, six, seven, nine and ten.
Okay, we are going to take a look at the final section from our Randy Rhoads study piece. For this, like I said, I borrowed this idea from the end of flying high again. I am literally following these chords. C sharp five, A five, F sharp five, D five, G sharp five, E five, and C sharp. And, what are we going to do is use that same double tapping technique. Now, the first lick is 14 on the B string and nine on the B and six on the B. Now, drop that down on to the adjacent string on the G-string, 14, six and nine.
Now we are going to play 16 on the D and eleven on the D and eight on the D, so you do the double tap, and then finish off on 17 on the A. It is the note of – and 12 and nine on the A string. I will out that together nice and slowly, here we go. I have to speed, one, two, three, four. Okay, for the next section, we then play 13 on the G, and eight and five on the G, 14 on the D, and nine and six on the D string. So, you have five numbers and then we are playing 16 on the A and 11 and eight. Finish off with an F sharp five-power chord so the whole of the tapping lick, here it goes.
Okay, I have speed. Here we go, three, four. There is plenty of info there for you. Lots of licks and ideas, so make sure you really get into these practices nice and slowly. That concludes the teaching section of this Quick licks Randy Rhoads DVD.
