Okay, for our final jam, jam number ten. We are going to use some dominant sounds now. So, we are going to use an A seven arpedio – an A seven arpedio, which we will talk about after we listen to the jam track so check it out.
Okay, so jam number ten. It is a kind of funky sound in A that rest around in A seven chord a lot. So, I am going to take advantage of that and play A seven arpedio and those notes are – help me out here – A, C sharp, E and G. And one of my favorite sounds is to take that dominant seven arpedio and add the fourth to it. The fourth will be the note D. So, I end with an arpedio that has A, C sharp, D, E and G.
So I can just play the arpedio for you now, before we talk about the jam track. So A, let us say the root note is here on the fifth fret of the low E string. C sharp could be on the fourth fret of the A string. D could be on the fifth fret and then E on the seventh fret and then we can play the note G on the fifth fret of the D string and then we are back to the root note A on the seventh fret but there is one octave of an A seven arpedio.
Now, we can continue C sharp on the sixth fret of the G string, D on the seventh fret of the G string, E and G on the B string, fifth fret and eight fret. We can play on the fifth fret of the high E string as a root note A and then we can stretch up to the ninth fret and play C sharp and we can even slide up a half step and play that fourth again which is D.
Okay, so now let us get into the jam. I want to start up here in the 17th position. I am going to bend the 20 fret of the B string up a full step and then come back down and play 17 to 20 on the B. Now, I play 17 to 21 on the high E string and then I am going to do a bend up from the 21st up a half step. That actually is going to be a reverse bend so like bend a half step, which will give me that D note that I have been talking about. So it is a suspended sound. I am going to do a reverse bend. A-bend strike the note and then come back down, back down to the 20th fret of the B string, do a reverse A-bend two times here. There is a little more emotion when you do this reverse bend. Then I am going to come back down to the 18th fret of the G string.
Okay, now to the D string, 17 to 19, 18 on the G string, 19, 17 on the D. That phrase sounds like this and I am going to continue working my way down the fret board using this A seven sounds. Our next shape will sound like this. 11, 14 on the D, 12 on the G, 14, 11 on the D. Next shape will sound like this.
So, that is five to seven on the D string. Remember I am in A, so you need to know where your root notes are. The root note is on the seventh fret of the D string. Now, six on the G, seven to five on the D and then slide into the seventh fret of the A, back to the fourth fret of the A.
Okay, now the song goes to a D seven sound. I am going to do this D seven suspended arpedio so it will sound like this. So, I am going to bend F sharp of a half step to G and back down 14 of a half step down to 10 on the high E, down to 13 on the B, from the 13 on the B, back to 10 on the B. So, probably we have done this, 12, 11 on the G now.
Okay, so hopefully you can see that shape. I am playing the D seven arpedio but I am adding the fourth to it which is the note G. I am starting off by bending into that note G and then I will play it again on the G string. Then the song goes down to a C seven sound then I am going to play something from a C seven arpedio.
So, I am going to start here, 15th fret of the G string up to 17 on the B, back to 15 G and then bend 18 on the high E and then release the bend. Final lick of this jam, we go back to A-sounds like this.
So, I am going to start off by doing this bend, right bend on the 20th fret of the B, up a full step and then grab the note which I am bending into which is A. I will play on the 17th fret of the high E. I will do that three times and then I am going to dissent an A-seven suspended arpedio. So here, I am bending on the 21st fret of the high E up a half step and back down, grab 18 on the high E, 20, 17 on the B, 19, 18 on t
