What if you do not have a cowbell pedal? Simply play the pattern without the cow bell pedal, problem solved. So, here is a demonstration of that idea (drums playing sample without cowbell pedal). So, let say that you do have a cowbell pedal but you find that this patterns can be a little busy with the melody happening. In that case, just leave the melody out, so here is an example of that idea and I will do is since I do not need to play the melody with the right-hand, I will go back to the more traditional way of having the right-hand play the high hat and the left-hand will be back on the snare (drums playing), okay.
So, I am going to give you a few more options, what we can do is take this rhythmic pattern that was our melody and voice it on different instruments, so this example will demonstrate the idea on the cowbells (drums playing).
Here is an example of taking the rhythm and putting it up on the right cymbal (drum playing). Another option is to try voicing the melody on different toms (drums playing). So, as you can see the options are endless. You can substitute your cowbell pedal, just put a tambourine there or a jam block, or anything else that you can think of. Just have fun with it.
