How to Play Drums: Single Stroke Roll

So, we will start with the Single Stroke Roll and it is really simple. You are going to start with alternating your hands from right to left, right to left, just keep doing that. And then, if you are a left handed player, of course your dominant hand is your left so you most likely turn with that. But also, it is good to switch off, go back and forth. If you are right handed, start with your hand, if you are a left hander, start with your right, mix it up a little bit and develop the strength on both of your hands. So, let us start with the Single Stroke Roll Rudiment. I will start it out going slow and then I will speed it up going to the roll and I will slow it back up. I will give you a four count.

That is pretty much it. Just go on from right to left, going slow and speeding it up. But if you practice it as it is simple where you are comfortable with it first and then speed it up as you get comfortable playing.
