All right. Now that I have showed you playing the beats on a hi hat patters, doing patterns on a hi hat and then doing the beats and then playing the patterns on the right cymbal, I would like to incorporate some of the crash cymbal. Basically, I just want to keep it simple for you today and I will start off by just playing a beat on the hi hat and I will hit this crash cymbal on the beat one. The, I will switch it up a little here and play on the right and then hit the cymbal on beat one and also hit this cymbal with beat one with the left hand so you can hit the cymbals with different hands. It does not always have to be with your dominant that you are playing. So, we will start this off. And again, I will hit the cymbal on beat one each time we play that rock beat for you guys that I am playing.

Now, I will move to the right and I will hit the cymbal on beat one but I will be using my left hand because remember, you are only hitting the snare on beats two and four so you can kick up there and hit that cymbal on beat one as well so you do not have to always switch over and use your dominant hand that you are playing with.

I managed just a little demonstration on incorporating the cymbals. And, get creative. Depending on who you are playing with and what they style of music you are playing, a lot of times, cymbals are just used to accent sort of things. So, if you are playing with the group and you are not actually accenting a beat on beat one with this arm, two or four, then hit it on beat two and four. Just get creative. I just wanted to give you a little bit of demonstration on incorporating them and using both hands on the cymbals.
