What I have today is what they call a five-piece drum set or some people call a drum set a drum kit. So, just to describe the kit itself, in front of me, I have the snare drum which is here and then I have three toms. Now, this is usually tom one, tom two and this is called a floor tom. They are usually set up like a high pitch to a lower pitch. Now down here, I have the bass drum sometimes known as the kick. You will hear that sometimes, either a bass drum or a kick. And then, around the five-piece set, I have the cymbals and there are different types of cymbals. This is the hi hat cymbals and then up here are two different cymbals, there is the bottom. As you can see, it says bottom on the hi hat. There are a lot of tempos that can go to the bottom and then there is the top of the hi hat and those piece together. And then, holding the top hi hat, this is called the clutch and that holds that together.
And then, we have a cracked cymbal here and another cracked cymbal. You can have as many as you like, you can take away some or have more. I think that starting out, having two is good to start with. And then, we have the right cymbal over here. I will touch more on the cymbals later and describe the different cymbals, how many sounds and how you can use it.
