Hi and welcome again to another one of my easy to play lessons. Today, I am going to teach you how to play a good old song called “Everyday”: The thing I like about the songs from back then is you could play most of them using the same chords and if you have watched a lot of my other videos, where you will see your C and your F’s and your G a lot okay. And this song takes us one step further. There is your C, you’re a minor okay, F and G, you can use the video on “House of the Rising Sun”. It also was the same four chords in there. So, if you know those chords, you can play not only this song but a lot of the other ones. So, I think you should try to play some of the other songs from back then, see if they will fit into that.
Okay so other songs did. Okay, this is what we are going to learn today though. I will just do the opening part of it for you.
[Demo]
Okay, that is the ending I have put in there. Okay, let us go through it here now and we are going to start off with our right hand on this G note here. Okay, I am going to leave it up to you to get your beat in here okay. Those things I am going to leave up to you to this video is a lot of times you will see me using these two fingers instead of the full three fingers on the chord. The reason I do that is once you get down low like that, it just does not sound right to me so what that does, okay so a lot of times you make it down low I want to use—I do not like the G. I just dropped the middle one and it sounds a lot better. I am going to leave it up to you there to experiment on with that, okay.
Here is what we are starting here is on the G note, okay and the chords, C, A minor, F and G. Okay, I will just call them out and make it easier for you okay.
[Demo]
A minor, F, G, C, A minor, F and your G. Okay, I will go through that part again nice and slow for you okay. Starting off with your C chord here, G note up here. Okay use whatever fingers are most comfortable for you. A minor, F and a G, C, A minor, F and a G. Okay, and the last part of the verse is starting with C. Down to you’re a minor again, F, G and then the end of the line thing. Here is your F. You use chords with both hands. It is much fine, okay. So, I am using a C chord. You can basically use the C chord but one note at a time then go to an F. Okay both hands, nice effect.
Okay, so let us go through the whole first part, see where we are.
[Demo]
Chorus, do it twice.
[Demo]
Okay, so that is the main part of the song. Now we are getting to the chorus. Okay and into the chorus section now we are going to use some black notes in these chords, so I will go through them first. We are going to use a B flat which is your F note here. We are going to use this flat note and your D up here, so that is your B flat chord. We are also going to use an E flat. Okay there is your E flat note there. We are going to use this G and then this B flat note up here, so that is your E flat chord. Okay, we are also going to use an A flat okay. We are going to keep our little finger down here. We are going to use this A flat key and then we are also going to use the C up here. Okay. So, we are going to end up with an A flat.
Okay just to go over those again, we have got B flat, okay. We have got an E flat and we have got an A flat. Okay there is one other thing we are going to do on this section. It is when we go to play our G chord at the end. Okay. If you can get your other fingers to work for you, also use this key here okay, so there is your G and if you do all four of those, you end up with a G7. Okay, so that is one other thing. If you cannot do it, it does not really matter, but if you give it a shot.
Okay, the part we are going to learn then is the chorus and it goes like this.
[Demo]
Okay, then it goes right back to the beginning of the song again. Okay, so let us go through that bit by bit here. Okay, we are going to use an F chord down here and we are starting on this A note here okay and you are going to hit this quite a few times, it is helpful if you just sing the song in your mind or sing out loud if you can si
