Now, we are up to jam number two. The first phrase, which covers the first four bars, it sounds like this, one, two, three, four.
Now, the interesting thing about this run is I am using my middle finger in my right hand along with the pick. So, I am playing on the G string for the most part the G string and the high E string. The G string, I will use my pick on high E string, I am going to use my middle finger. I am going to start up by sliding from 11 to 13 on the G string. I will use my pick for this then I am going to play 12 on the high E with the middle finger and pull off to the open high E.
Now, I am going to move out to the 11th fret on the G string, 10th fret on the high E and then pull up to the open high E. Same pattern with the right hand. Now, 9th fret G, 9th fret high E, pull up to the open high E, 7th fret G, 7th fret high E, pull up to the open high E. Now, 6th fret on the G string, 5th fret on the high E string, pull up to the open high E.
Now, it changes up a little bit. Open B string, slight bend on the third fret on the high E, open high E, third fret B, open high E. We are going to do that run two times, one, two, three, four, one.
We are at the bars five and six. We will move into the A chord. Here is the phrase for bars five and six.
So, we are going to use the same pattern with the right hand. I am going to slide from four to six on the G string, grab the fifth fret on the high E, slide six to nine on the G and then grab nine on the high E, strike the 9th fret of the G, slide back to the 7th and grip then grab to seven on the high E. Strike the G string on the seventh fret, slide back to six and then grab five on the high E. Now, I am going to hold the same shape where I have six on the G, five on the high E and I am going to slide back chromatically. So, same pattern, I have six G, five E, move back to five G, four E and then four on the G, three on the high E.
So once again, the pattern sounds like this, one, two, three, four, one.
So now, we are up to bars, seven and eight, which move back into the E chord. This phrase stars on the end of one, one, two, three, four, one.
This is from E major pentatonic. Starting off on the D string, six fret and into the ninth fret, I want to slide from ninth fret into the 11th fret. Grab nine on the G, back to 11 on the D, pull the ninth fret of the G three times. 11 D, back to nine G then a full step on 11th fret of the G string, back down to the 11th fret of the G and then play to the ninth fret and then I am going to end the phrase by playing 11 D, nine G. We have to pull it up together once again, one, two, three, four, one.
Our next phrase is identical to the first phrase that we learned but now we are going to play this over bars nine and ten which will be a B chord to an A chord. So, it will sound like this, one, two, three, four.
All right now, for our final run in this second jam, we are going to play over bars 11 and 12 which are the turn around. So, here is the phrase, one, two, three, four, one.
Okay, so we are going to start on beat number two. I am going to play an open B string to the second fret of the B followed the open high E then I am going to slide from three back to two on the G string or one up here to the open G, grab the second fret of the D string, so far we have done this. Now, I am going to play the second fret of the G string, open G, hammer on to the first fret of the G, second fret on the D string, second fret on the A string and the final now will be on the second fret of the G string.
So, the whole phrase once again sounds like this, one, two, three, four, one.
Starting off with the B string, open B, second fret B and then to the open high E. Now, we are going to jump down to the G string, slide from three to two and pull up to the open G and then we are going to grab the second fret of the D string. So far, we have done this. Back to the G string now, second fret, open string and then hammer onto the first fret. Final three notes second fret on the second fret now, D string, A string and then G string.
All right, one more time, here is the final run of jam number two, one, two, three, four, one. And there we have jam number two.
