How to Play Go the Distance on the Piano-Part 1
Hi there and welcome again to another of my lessons. Today, I am going to show you how to play another Disney song called “Go the Distance.” It is from the movie Hercules.
It is really simple. We are going to do it in the key of C. And it should not take you too long or an hour to play this. I am just going to have a C note here at your top C. One after the part, grab your G note in the middle. Just rock your fingers back and forth. This sounds like this.
We are now going over to the right hand again. We have here F chord, G7, and the C. I am going to do switch down here. I am going to play the C chord now with that right hand. I am going to take my left hand and move it simply on the C going down in octave just outside the range there. So, I have got this C chord here. It sounds like it goes together again, F, G7, and the C. You can listen to this song. The things that operate are the C notes and the G note. Then we go to our first notes F, G7, C and we do it again.
On the next section actually starts the same way like that of the first part. So come along and I will sing. It allows you to remember where you are in the song. Going to the F chord, G7, and the C and do it again, so that is F, G7, and the C going back to the F. Then to your right there, move everything up from once more. Here we go on the G and move it up one more. And that is an A minor, F and the G7.
Let us do that at second half again. F, everything up one, both hands, that is your G, and your A minor. One more, to an F and the G7, let us do that whole section again. F, G7, C then again, F, G, A minor, to your F and the G7. Get on to the next section, it is the same but some changes in the middle.
So switch off to C with your E note here. F chord, G7, and the C. This time I am going brought to the top C here. Put the F, G7, C. Next section is your F. With your F chord and your G, shift to the whole section again up to C. Okay, we now do that and so far, we got this. We had an opening here. Select one back and forward actually. Then we had our opening here down to the C chord. We will do it again.
When you are playing that, if you do not want to play this to straight chords, we are going to show you here. If you want to do individual notes with two fingers, make combination of that. Just to give yourself a little bit of the beat.
