How to Play Golf - Swing Fundamentals 1/3
Roger Fredericks reveals Secrets to a Fundamental Golf Swing
Fundamental #1 Balanced Address Position
Now I want to talk about the 3 true fundamentals of the golf swing. Number 1, all good
players are set up in what we call a neutral position in other words they are in balance in
the setup when I will take my natural stance right in here this hip joint must be right on
top of the ankle joint. That’s balance. If the joints of the body don’t line up then you’re
completely out of balance so what happens in a golf stance we want to see the knee caps
right over the shoelaces, the shoulders just out over the toes, nice bent hips allowing the
arms and shaft to form this angle right in here.
I want that weight to be slightly forward maybe 70% of the weight to be on the balls of
my feet maybe 10, 15, 20% on my heels and the rest out towards the toes that way. That
is balanced.
