How to Play Golf: Making the Shot

The mind can not handle the reverse of an idea so do not ever in golf picture what you do not want to happen. Picture exactly what you do want to happen because the mind can not handle the reverse of an idea.

We are going to go out and play today. We are out and play hole number one. And we have got our T box and we have got this dog leg right, there is the green and here is our little flag stick and the cup and then you know what we have all the way from the T box, where we are going to T off all the way down to the green is nothing but water. Now if you very honest, you would say when you get on the T here hey I can not hit it where? I can not hit it right in to the water and that is what you are thinking about. “I can not hit it right; I can not hit it right.” So the picture in your mind is do not hit it right but unfortunately as we have learn the mind can not handle the reverse of that idea so you are actually have the picture in your mind of hitting it where of hitting it right in to the water.

So 9 out of 10 times you get up in the T and you are thinking I can not hit it right. I can not hit it right. The picture in your mind is the ball going right splashing in to the water you have to take that negative study it get rid of it and put the positive over here and getting ready to hit the golf ball. That is why golf is been so difficult because most people are always thinking about what they do not want to happen to there golf shot.
