Male: The second thing that we always see in putters is cutting across the ball. And usually, that happens when the putter is taken back outside of the putting line, and the person pulls the putt or cuts across the pot instead of taking the potter’s straight back in a little inside and down the line, they take the putter outside the line and then cut a crossed the ball. Male: Most of this putts end up left to the hole because that is where the putter face is aimed, especially on moving the head or cutting across the ball.

Potting pointers for Common Potting Mistakes

Turning or lifting the head will cause the entire body to move. Excess body movement will force the ball out of the target line. If the backstroke is outside of the target line, you will over compensate and pull the putt. Putting constitutes 40 to 50% of your total strokes. More putts are missed because of distance control, then because of directional control.
