How to Play Golf Finding The Fairway Under Pressure
So here we are, what a spectacular looking hole this is, great hole, big carry over water,
out of bounds on the right pine forest up on the left, lot’s of danger and we’re coming to
the end of an important round of golf. So how do we overcome those fears to make sure
that we can get out with our par with a birdie maybe. Well there a various things you can
do but one of the things I found very useful is to try and imagine your favorite key shot
on your own course at home.
A hole that you have never missed; oh I never missed the fairway on the fourth and try
and put that into your mind, perhaps also think about yourself at the driving range or you
just stand there whizzing the ball away towards the 250 yard marker. Try and focus on
those as you get settled, but on top of that go through your pre shot routine. Whatever it is
if you look from behind pick a spot in front whatever you do don’t change that, just
because the hole is there and there are a few demons lurking in your mind.
Set up to it, get yourself set, once you’re already over it if you glance up try and think
about that fourth hole and then we’re ready and really commit to it. Commit to the follow
through, chase through, try and hold your balance, those are the keys to maintain the
good strike. So we’re all set and now we’ll give it a try.
A rather light there that’s right in middle, I’m on for a birdie.
