Okay welcome to another one of my easy to play lessons and today you will learn another Beatle song called “In My Life.” It is a very simple song, the chords are going to be the same as we have used in our other songs.
Here is an odd new one but generally, it is very easy. I think with a little work, you should be able to play this one anywhere from half hour to an hour. So, it is not that a hard song. I am going to go through once for you and give you an idea what we are going to learn. I am going to do it very simple as if it sounds like a very simple song because I am leaving out some stuff so it would get a little easier for you to learn. So, let us go through it once and then we will break it up and do a couple of pieces and go from there.
Okay so, let us break it down, so we will do the beginning of the song, there are only two chords in the beginning and one is your C chord, so find your C, every second note, use your Brad spread, that is your C chord. And then finding your G note, here is your same spread and that gives you a G chord, so those are the only two chords we are going to use in the opening and we actually play the opening twice.
With our right hand, we are going to start off with our E here, then we are going to go up to the C. Okay, do that one more time, pretty simple, put some chords with it a C up to a G okay. Then we will do it through twice. So that is the opening. Now if you want here to step putting a solid chord, if you want to do it like this and it should not change the sound of it.
You need to improvise with your left hand there, okay that is the opening part, let us move in to the next session.
Okay moving into the second there, the second part of the song here, that goes twice. So chord wise, we are going to use our C, an E minor here, go to your A, same spread having leaving E minor. Find your F, here is your F chord and if you take your middle finger drop it one note to the left, to the black, that will give you an F minor. So, there is your F, move this one finger to the left and you got F minor.
Now we are going to go back to C again, and our right hand we are starting off with this G note here okay. This one is a black note here okay. Let us go through that one more time here. Okay starting off with your G, black note. It is pretty simple. Let us go up through with some chords, now starting off with our C okay. C chord, E minor and an A minor, F, F minor, grab your black note here and back to C.
Let us go through that one more time here, C chord, E minor, and A minor. F, F minor, have that black note, and then you will play that through twice okay, so this is what we got. And you can use single notes to get into a beating if you like. I am just going to give you the main chords to it and it is up to you to find some kind of a beat going with your left hand.
So practice that, that is the opening and the main verse of the song, now move onto video two and learn the chorus.
