Guitarlessons.com the number 1 name in guitar lessons online.
Hey welcome to guitarlessons.com in this lesson we’ll going to learn a variation of the last bluegrass pattern that we have learned. There's a little bit extra added to it then it makes a little bit harder, but it kind of dresses it up and make it sound a little better too. Let me give you an example of it and we’ll go through and learn the whole thing.
[Demonstration]
So basically what we’re doing is taking the old strumming pattern [Demonstration] and just adding a little bit of a hammer on, on the 2nd bass note that we’re catching there. So do the 1st half of the regular pattern. [Demonstration] Then hit your A string open. [Demonstration] Then hammer on. [Demonstration] Do the 2nd fret with the middle finger, so that’s slowly [Demonstration]. You're going to take the same idea, move to your C chord, plus the same pattern in the beginning, hit your low C note right here on the A string, 3rd fret. [Demonstration] Then you’re going to come up and grab your D string open. [Demonstration] Hammer on with your middle finger to your 2nd fret.
[Demonstration] Then throw your strumming there again. [Demonstration] Back to your low C note, [Demonstration] open D, [Demonstration]. Then when you move to your D it’s the exact same thing as it was in the regular pattern [Demonstration] to the A. [Demonstration] Then back to the G. [Demonstration]
So if you you're cooking along in a bluegrass song, it will sound something like this.
[Demonstration]
So that is one of the weapons you need if you’re going to play bluegrass music.
