Hi there and welcome to another one of my easy to play lessons. I hope you had a chance to get to my website at www.mrmusiccanada.com and checkout all the lessons that I have on DVD’s there, plus some of my own CD’s that I have made too, so if you get a chance check it out. I hope you do. Today, I am going to show you how to play another Disney Classic “It is a Small World” and if you have been to a floater to California or any of the other Disney parks in the world, I am sure you would have heard this song. So, I am going to go through it first and then we will break it down, let me show you how to do it, okay. Made it nice and simple for you, I would think within a half an hour, you would be able to play this song at the most. Okay, here we go.
[Demo]
Okay, so let us go through the chords, we are going to need to do the verse. Okay, first our basic chord is C. So, we are doing this in the key of C to make it nice and simple for you. So, find your C key, every second note up is your Brad spread and I will give you a C, okay or else we are going to use an F. Okay, so find your F, use your same spread there and that could be an F chord. Up one more to the G, seems better if you view the G chord. Okay, this is also a D minor. Okay, so we were going back down to your D again, use your Brad spread. That would be a D minor. Okay, what else we are going to need here? A C7 if you can play it, okay. I am going to show you where it comes in but this is your C chord and to make it a seventh you need to push this key too. Okay, so if you can reach four fingers in there, that would be the C7 chord.
Okay, and then there is one other chord which is an F minor. Okay, that was your F, if you remember that is your F chord. If you move your middle finger down to this black note, that will give you an F minor key. Okay, so just to review that, we have got a C, okay we have a C7, okay with jump this key, okay. We also have a D minor, okay. That was your D right, your D minor and we have an F chord, okay there is your F. Then you have F minor. Bring your middle finger down, one. And we have a G chord. Okay, those are the chords we are going to use to that.
Okay, so moving on to our right hand, we are going to start of with an E here, okay. So you find your E here. Okay. And I will do it nice and slow here for you.
[Demo]
Up to the E up here.
[Demo]
Okay, we will go through that again. Starting with your E here and the highest note we are going to hit is the next D up here, so everything in there, okay. Start again.
[Demo]
Okay, the next part we are going to go down to the D down here, okay.
[Demo]
Up to the next D.
[Demo]
Okay, Let us do that whole section again starting with your E here, okay.
[Demo]
Okay, and down to your D here, up to the D.
[Demo]
Okay. And I hope you sing it to yourself or humming it if you cannot sing like me. Okay, let us go over through with the chord this time. Okay, we will start with the C chord, okay and we will start here on the E note, remember. Okay.
[Demo]
Go up to your G chord. Okay, we are coming down to the D. Our fingers already on there, so you just take your finger off again and go to your D minor chord here.
[Demo]
And down to your C. Okay, so we will try that again. Starting with your C chord and your E note here, okay, C chord, up to your G, down to your D with this finger, D minor chord and then on your C. Okay, and then into the second section of this.
[Demo]
Okay, so let us go through that a little slower starting on your E note here, okay. Okay, so let us go through with the chords this time.
[Demo]
Starting up with a C chord again, okay. And this is where that C7 is going to come in. If you cannot get your finger up to this block, now do not worry about it, just play your C again, okay. So it is.
[Demo]
Okay, C7 but if you cannot reach it just go.
[Demo]
Just the same C chord song, almost as good place with that but if your finger cannot reach it do not worry about it, okay.
[Demo]
C7, up to your F, and your F minor, yes this one, these three. D minor, okay G and the C
