You remember earlier when we do the E minor position, (guitar demo) that this scale is base of, (guitar demo). We went to a second position, which I called the D minor position where you are starting on the root note E (guitar playing).
Okay, that works as you move the scale up. So if we have an A minor, (guitar playing). We have another A here, here is your root note right here. Well that the same position is going to work in the same way. You just start on the next highest root note, which here is A, (guitar demo).
So what that does, not it extends this little box in here and then extends it all the way up to here. So now you have got a lot more moving a room. And once again, remember if you can invasion this, it is kind of a D minor chord like this, (guitar demo). You kind of see that in your head, it will really help you hone in on where you are on the neck, so here we are starting again on the root note, (guitar demo).
Now, there is an extension of this D minor shape. They actually start here. It does not start on the root note, but check it out because you can also play the same notes in this position, (guitar playing). So that is an A minor. You are starting on a C, I find that would some methods I have seen that intends to get very confusing when you do not start on the root because you really do not know where you at. So that is why I am concentrating on this position starting here, (guitar demo). So that you kind of really key in on exactly where you are going.
