All right, when I was doing smokie I started on the fifth fret. The root note using my third finger and what that was is part of another shape, another league shape. We call this shape three or I called the G minor shape. This is a little tougher visualization. What does this called sharp three?
It starts the same root note we have been starting at the fifth fret. Now remember, even though I am doing all these shapes and the key of A minor, which incidentally E minor just means it is a shuttle sound than a major. So like an A minor chords, sounds like this (guitar demo). Something it would not play it away. This is an A major, something you would not play it on a funeral. So minor, (guitar demo).
So back to the shape, we are going to start here at the A root, (guitar demo) and then you go here (guitar demo). Now you can also finger it like this, (guitar demo), just using your first and third finger, (guitar demo).
Again, I do not want to sound like your dead here but make sure you practice these skills slowly. Make sure the notes are nice and clean.
