How to Play Lead Guitar: Hammering

A hammer is where, once again, you are going to pick the string once but you are going to get two separate notes. So, in using the open 4th string, we hit the open the 4th string and bring the second finger down forcefully and go (Demonstration) like that. Now, that is a fast hammer, just like a fast slide.

When you do a hammer, make sure that you really bring that finger down because some people tend to be a little wimpy the first few times they do it. Just go for it. Smack the string.

Now, here is a rhythmic or a slow hammer. Once again, this would be used rhythmically within a song. (Demonstration)
