Another Alicia Keys song I will be doing is today, it will be “Lesson Learned”. It is in the key of A major, it is pretty simple and it is lot easier than the ‘Super Woman” I teach. Also learn actually I should say. It is an A major, the primary chords you are going to use, I will show you. First chord, A, C sharp, E, A major, C sharp minor, C, E, G, show my hands will be better. C, E, G, at sharp minor, F, A, C, and finally D major. D, F sharp, A, D. Again, real slow. I will play that for you.
Now that we have that established, if you have any problems with that, just rewind or write down the chords as I say them out and then that will help you remember. In the left hand, it is going to be the root position. All you are going to do down here is going to go up A, C sharp, A, C sharp, F, D. We can do the pattern any way you want. You can have it up, we do that way, have it fall off closer. Depends, if you are playing one note like probably want to have more base sounds, I will put it down here. Both hands together.
So that is how it sounds, we are going to do it real slow for you. Again, if you want to do that different level, have it lower. That is the verse section, the entry of section or have you. Now, the chords of lesson learned is pretty much the same in that regard, where are we going? Right. Here we go. So slow, a D major, C sharp minor, difference is that one chord, E, D sharp, E, E major, F sharp minor. Again, slowly for you. And that pinky all the way down here is playing a D. Here we go again. In time that it will sound.
I do not know how many times John Mayer or Alicia Keys does that, you can add it to make it sound more dynamic. You can add beats if you want. Again, now you are going to add in the left hand. Here we go. D, C, E, F sharp, D, literally, it is really, really not that difficult. Here we go again, what am I doing here? Okay yes. Okay here we go, no this is the section he sang on about somewhere and all that good stuff. And then back to the verses, and then the transition will sound like this. I will go over right into the course, here we go again. And then she goes towards in the end of the song she goes into a little bridge and basically she goes to a B minor 7 or major. It will go to B, you play that twice and she goes into a little while outer section most. So it is going to B, F minor, E major. Basically that is the end of the soul section most. So you just take those cords B, D, F and then just repaginate them and you can have D down here if you want. Is she only does that twice so the progression on this line of music she is going to be twice, that chord twice. Then your transition over to that minor and the result will make E major chord. Then back to the main verses. And then the out row of the song just basically repeats like that, I do not know how many times I cannot remember this couple ahead but it repeats quite a bit so I will let the chords up for you. The song is very simple, there is no loud instruments, really smooth. Follows perfect hitch so I hope you enjoy it. It is a real simulating lyric literally and figured too clean if you noticed it. So go out and learn it and enjoy. Thank you!
