Okay, so here is lick number one. We are going to start with sweeping pattern from the first fret on the G and then we are going to go to 12 on the B, 11 on the high E and over the right which is going to be pushing through the strings in a downward fashion so. When we get to the 11th fret on the high, we are just going to hold that note. Play 12 on the B, 13 on the G, 12 on the B then play 12 on the B again slight up to 14. And then, we are going to move down to 11 on the B then hammer on to 12 on the B pull up to 11, 13 on the G and then play 13 on the D twice. So, that how first lick slow should sound like this.
Now, lick number two. For this lick, we are going bar across the 11th fret on the B in the high with the first finger then play those too nice while hammering on the 12 fret on the B. And then, pull it off again. Then, play 13 on the G. Then, we are going to bar across the 11th fret again but across the G and the B on the 11th fret this time hammering on to the 13th fret still playing the B as well. After that, we are going to slide from 13 to 11 on the D, pull off to nine on the D, play 11 on the A and then slide from 11 to 13 on the D.
Now, here is lick three. So this lick has pretty much started in the same as lick number one and as much as starting the first 6th fret on the G and then switch pattern again. That is a 12 on the B, 13 on the G, 12 slides to 14, play 11 on the B. So, up to that point is pretty much the same then we are going to have this. So, we are going to have 11 hammering on to 12 pull up to 11 then slide back to seven on the B and then sliding to the 11th fret on the B. And then bend it half step so you are getting a pitch of fret 12. So, slide should look like this.
Okay, lick number four kind of directly follows on from lick number three in terms of while we are on the half bend on the 11 on the B, the next lick should go like this. So, when you get out to the half bend on 11, you then pick it and let it down again. And then, pull of to nine on the B. And then, you are going to pull of from 11 to 9 slight A on the G. And then, playing nine on the D, 11 on the A, and then pull of the 11 to nine on the A, pull of the seven, slide down to six, hammer on seven and then pull of to six again so you are going to have. So, that how lick slow should sound like this.
Okay, here is lick number five. This lick number five is very Steve Vai like in terms of using the whammy bar to accent them and also playing this kind of stock, it is high phrase leading up to another part with solo. We are going to start with the opening and push that while we go down and let it up slowly. Hammer on the fourth fret on the 11, and then, push the whammy bar down again and let it up quickly on the sixth fret on the A. Then we are going to slide it from eight to nine on the D. And then, we are going to deep the whammy bar down again on the G string and this time, we are going to slide it up from six to eight. So, when you put it on the end to the first of few notes, it should sound like this. And then, we are going to play 11 on the B, and then we are going to push the whammy bar down and let it up again and slide in to 12. Then when we get to the higher string, we are just going to play 9 and 11.
Now, for lick number six. Here is another classic version. They kind of double bend. So, we are going to push up the 12th fret on the B string whole step while holding the 9th fret on the high A. So, you can only do that by moving your third finger up and down slightly or you can the whammy bar and slowly push it down and let it back up again. Then we are going to use this same technique but two frets up. So now we are going to have 14 on the B up a whole step 11 on the high. And then, we are going to move up three frets and bend up 17 on the B whole step holding 14 in the high. And then, back down to the position where we started. It is a fairly slow look anyway so let me just play that again for you.
Okay, now we are going to take a look at lick number seven. In this lick, we are looking at series of half bends. It kind of gives you that sort of Indian feel about might not sound like it in the tone that we are using. But we got to look at our quick half bend on the 11th fret on the high E string. Quickly pull of to the 9th fret on the high. And then, we are going to have 12 on the B then we are going to immediately do a half bend on the 11th fret and let it down on the B and then pull of to the 9th fret on the B. And then, it is just going to continue down like that. So, after the B string, we are going to move to the G string and play 11 on the G and then quick half bend on the 8th fret on the G. And then, we are going to play 11, 9 on the D, and then, do another quick half bend on the 8th fret on the D. So, slow it should look like this.
