This is a guitar solo of the song My Own Worst Enemy by Lit. The entire solo is based on octaves. So you're only going to use your 1st and 3rd fingers and mute the 4 string. You can mute it with your 1st finger like so. See I’m playing a note on the 5th string but gently touching the 4 string. So it doesn’t sound at all. So I’m actually hitting on the 5th, 4th, and 3rd strings but you're only listening to the 5th and 3rd strings.
Okay, so the first part of the solo is the following. So you're starting the 6th fret of the 5th string and on the 8th fret of the 3rd string, and sliding one fret up. So you're sliding on the 5th string from the 6th to the 7th fret, and on 3rd string you're sliding from the 8th to the 9th fret. And you're ending on the 9th fret of the 5th string, and on the 11th fret of the 3rd string. So that first part sounds like this. I’ll repeat it exactly the same.
Now, to transition to the next part of the solo, perform a slide the 9th and 11th fret on the 5th and 3rd strings to the 11th and 13th frets of the 5th and 3rd strings. So after playing, slide and half a tone, so you're ending on the 12th and 14th on the 5th and 3rd strings. And it’s all consecutive slides up and down. We’re going to play 12-14, 14-16, 16-18. And then move just play around back and forth. I’ll do that again and then I’ll go over the exact frets.
So after you're here at 11-13 and you go up to 12-14, you go 14-16, then 14-18, sorry 16-18, 14-16, 12-14, 11-13, 12-14. So that final part in slow motion would sound like this.
