Today’s or this week’s tutorial shall be Brian Mc Knight’s One Last Cry. It is in the key of G flat minor and it takes over to the key of G major at the key change which is at the middle of the song or towards the end rather, so let us get started.
The first section, I am going to do the intro so here we go. That is the intro.
Here we go, first chord on the left hand, your base note are going to be G flat, A flat, B flat and it is going to be basically a modulation pattern in all left hand so it just going to walking up real gentle, okay.
Now, in the right hand, the melodies is going to be this G flat, A flat, B flat, down to B natural or C flat, you do that twice.
The keys is flexible enough so you can add your own melodies or your own extra notes toward if you want it, it is pretty good key and it is not going to be that much difference for the listener.
Okay, when you add both hands together, just watch my hands again on that. You will result to A flat, B flat actually, when you do that around the first time or the second time rather. You want to drop down to G flat or actually rather stay on B flat then you are going to that, this units which is B flat or B, B flat, A flat, G, and play enough of that or you can play inactive of and then we are going to the next section, his verse section and so on.
That is the intro section basically and now we are going to the verse section, that is next.
Now we finish the introduction section. Now, we are going to the verse section which sounds something like this, after that I am going to the chord section.
The verse section that I am going to work on right now, the verse section will be compose of the major chords or major-minor chords that will be working on in the introduction. you are going to have your G flat, you can see it, it follows the pattern off screen, you do not even worry about that, the G flat chord. It just going to be G flat, A flat, B flat, B natural.
Basically, that is the verse section. What we are to add on the right hand, the right hand is composed of basically a couple of chords, so it is going to be a D flat, F natural, G. It is going to be F, G sharp, G flat, D flat and then now the B natural for C flat.
Those are the primary chords that I will be going to use towards the end of each sentence in this verse and then the walk down section.
This is the walk down before I put you out of my mind and every down will be part of this verse, so after that.
Just watch the patterns in my hands as a form. So now I am going to add both hands together.
After you note, we play that a few times. We are going up to the A flat, A flat here.
When you hit that B flat up here, you are going to hit the B flat in the left hand too.
Now, we are actually going to the main course of this song One Last Cry, so that will be on the next section. The tutorial will go on after this short break.
