Back then it was sort of the like with Korn and other band and it was sort of the advent of the 7-string like heavy guitar. We don’t want to mess with 7 strings. So we were trying to make it -sound heavy without having to go to 7-string. So basically, Tobin would pull down to low and I would just do like sort of the inverted. And then when you got down to the B, it would sound kind of like 7-string.
The root is actually the E then the D then the C and then the B. so up here, if I did it up here, it would be, and then there's no more down there. So that’s what it was. I had to find a way to make it sound. Instead of just doing, I had to find a way to make it sound heavy and low but still have those root notes. And that what like AC/DC is famous for that. So I just transpose it to drop D guitar.
The intro is and the verse is obviously the same. It’s just a muted version of it. Tobin wrote that on piano actually. And it was something that he wanted. It was sort of a hip hop thing on the piano like keyboard. And he wanted to do it and apply like a classical style with a hip hop beat behind it. So he just transposed it to guitar. And it is what it is.
So from the verse to the chorus back into the verse then same thing again except that goes and then into the bridge. And then that goes the breakdown which is the same as the intro and then it just goes. So that goes around a couple of times and then it goes in to the noodle again and then back into the chorus and out.
