How to Play Piano:D Minor and Dorian Scale

Play the D minor chord once and hold it down. Press and listen to the melancholy beautiful tones of your hopefully tuned piano. (Demonstration) Now, while the tone of your D minor (Dm) chord is still sounding, play a D with your right hand, followed by any series of white notes that takes your fancy, in any order. (Music playing) Have fun and experiment with it. Make up some licks. It just so happens that the white notes you are playing are all in the D minor (Dm) Dorian mode scale. It is called the Dorian mode scale. (Music playing)
