So let us have a look at the first verse and see what happens. Now, that little opening lick – we go step by step. We are going to go on the G string. That is just the G string open and I am muting it with my right hand. And I got these two fingers all in the B and E string 3rd fret. I am doing it with acoustic that is done with electric so more effects going on. I am going from there to the 2nd fret on that so I am moving this.
I am trying to just get that opening little lick if you want to get piece by piece of this song. Here is another lick now coming up. Now again, we are in the G string 2nd fret. Then B string, then the B string again, hold and then I am going to rock from that to that fancy little C, to the green day C. That is what I call the green day C. G over D, D to D9, that is your first verse. Let us just put the three B, C, D in it so G, D, C, G, C, G, D, C, D, G. Notice that my small finger stays on B string the whole time. If you let that finger stay there, you are going from C, to the G to the D9, and that finger never moves. It just keeps you anchored in there. And there is a lot of changing rhythms so if you are not used to rhythms, you do not have to get with that too. C, C, G, D9, Bm, C, C, G, Bm. Okay now let us go to the bridge, Bm, E, Bm, E, C9, D9, Bm, E, C9, D9, Bm, E, C9, D9. Now here is your chorus, G, D, Em, C, G, D, Em.
