Today I am going to show you a wonderful song that everybody knows worldwide and is requested many, many times so I am going to do a lesson out today, it is Somewhere over the Rainbow, okay?

Okay, I think everybody knows that song. I am going to do it nice and simple for you in the key of C and we are going to cut out a lot of the fancy stuff just to give it a basic so that you can learn this song. I would think, in less than a half an hour you should be able to play this song. Okay, so let us go through the chords first that we are going to use.
Find your C note, right on here. And if anybody did not know how to make a C chord, make your Brad spread every second note. That will give you a C chord. We are going to use an Am. Okay, a lot of times we play our Am up here right? Okay. But in this particular song, we are going to be using it down here. It is the same note, we just took this one and put it down there.
The reason we do that is it is a little easier to get around—to jump to the next chord that we have on the right. Okay, that is the idea when you are playing—it is to move your hands as less as possible to get the right chord. So that is your Am. This is going to be an Em. If you find your E note and every second note will give you an Em. Okay we are going to play C7, okay? So, if you can play your C this way, which is the same as this C, but use these three notes and add this black note here. That is going to give you a C7.
Okay, we are going to need an F, so find your F and that is your F chord. There is also going to be an Fm, so when you are on your F, drop your middle finger down to this black here. That makes that F an Fm okay, F and F minor. Okay a couple of the trickier chords that we are going to use is the D7. Okay, so here is your D chord. I am just putting this one on this one.
If that is all that you could play, that is fine. But if you want to make it into a 7th, add your C note up here. Okay that will give you a D7. Okay, and then we are also going to use an A7 okay and just to give you an idea. Okay, we are going to use this note. Get your E, G, your A and use this black one up here, okay? Just slide your fingers forward to get all those notes in there.
Then again, if you cannot play all four notes, you might want to just play an A, just use this one, the A and this black one here, okay. Whatever is the most convenient for you is the best way you play it. Okay, so those are the chords we are going to use.
Okay so let us go through our right hand and run the melody of the song. We are going to start up here on the C note. Okay, find your C and then we are going to go right up to the next C okay so it goes—

Okay pretty simple, let us do that one again. And hum it to yourself or sing it out loud. Okay so—

Okay the next part is right back down to your C again and then we are up to the A here. Okay, way up high—A. Okay and the next section right down to the A here, then up to this F.

And ending in that C there okay? Let me go through that whole section again then just starting on here on this C going up to the top C okay? “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”
