Hi it’s—I notice there’s been a lot of videos and instructions. I’m honest, some are good some of them good, some of them not so good. I think it’s time that I put my effort into it, maybe give you a little bit of an insight, what’s involved to get that nice harmonic sound. Today I’m going to be doing tech harmonics and pinch harmonics. I’ll start out with the tech harmonics. Here we go.
[Demonstration]
You all hear, of the tech harmonic is actually you hit a note. You attack from a certain position after that note to ring out a harmonic. In this case I’m tapping on the 12th fret while playing the notes on the 5th strings. Here’s an example.
[Demonstration]
Next I’ll be playing what’s known as a pinch harmonic instead of tapping, I’ll be pinching the note in a certain position of the bottom of the guitar. And I’m also hitting on the note of the top of the guitar, so here we go.
[Demonstration]
Way that is a cheat is by pinching the note instead of tapping it. You have to experiment according to where you are planning the notes is to wear the note gets the sound of harmonics. And if you practice can you do this, so one more time now with the tapping and pinch combined. Here we go.
[Demonstration]
That’s the way it’s going to go.
