How to Play The Boys Are Back in Town Verse by Thin Lizzy

The Boys Are Back In Town, Phil came in with a pretty skeletal idea which would happen most of the time. Phil will come in with a little basic sketch of a certain song. And especially The Boys Are Back In Town, in fact at that point when he first brought it in it really didn’t have full melody to it. It certainly didn’t have all the lyrics to it. At this point it was just an idea for the basic chord pattern. And he would come and we play something like. I mean, it would be that simple, right. And he’d go, what do you think? Yeah, that’s pretty good. But then you would start, either Bryan or I would get on it. And Downy would start to put his little kind of groove thing in there and make it swing a little bit. So that made you kind of go. Right. So now were starting to swing a little bit here. And it’s all gone pretty good. Yeah, I really like that basic verse thing. So he stood up, you know, I got a bed hair. The chorus, but it’s going to need like a guitar break here. Some sort of a, I don’t know what. It will be guitar thing, maybe it will go something like. Of course I'm looking, I'm going alright, that’s pretty basic. So you're trying to envision. What can I get out of this? What can I get out of that?
